According to rumors and reports we could hear that the 2015 Ford Explorer will be delivered with more changes and as a redesigned model. Currently available Explorer offers pretty modern and competitive looks, much better than previous models and because of this we do not expect to see many changes for new model.
This time rumors might not be true and we think that the 2015 model will be pretty much same as the currently available version. Changes that were delivered for this generation included design improvements and what is even more important much more efficient engine lineup allowing it to significantly reduce fuel consumption.
Specs Of 2015 Explorer
For the 2015 Ford Explorer we are getting three row full size SUV that is capable of transporting large families but also off road vehicle that has a lot to offer. You will be getting enough space for entire family and still you will be able to transport decent amount of their luggage.
Changes we expect to see are mostly related to the accessories and features that will be offered as a standard with this vehicle. Few new colors might be added for users to choose from while the design of both interior and exterior will remain pretty much intact.
Engine lineup will consist of three EcoBoost units and what we could hear it will remain same as in previous model. As a standard we are getting 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V6 unit that offers 290 hp at 6500 rpm and 255 hp at 4000 rpm. With this engine the 2015 Ford Explorer will return 17/24/20 mpg in city/highway/combined drive condition.
There is a good chance that more users will opt for the 2.0 liter EcoBoost inline four cylinder engine that produces 240 hp at 5500 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm. This engine offers best fuel economy and you can expect to see 20/28/23 mpg in city/highway/combined drive cycle. Those that are looking for more power will have the opportunity to choose 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost unit that pumps out 365 hp at 5500 rpm and 350 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm. Fuel consumption is similar to what we are getting from naturally aspirated V6 and is at 16/22/18 mpg.
